BRUNSWICK, N.Y. – A Sunday night fire has left a home in Brunswick severely damaged.
The two-alarm fire broke out around 10 p.m. Sunday at 150 Brick Church Road. Several crews from different departments responded to the fire.
The Brunswick Fire Chief said the fire was tough to fight. Flames got into the roof and attic area leading crews to fight the fire with a ladder truck from above. Water was also brought in with tankers.
Five people were inside the home when the fire began, but they all left the house safely. There were no injuries. They are currently being assisted by the Red Cross, and the Fire Chief said they are staying with neighbors.
Police had to shut down Brick Church Road between Route 2 and Route 7 while crews battled the blaze. The road has since been reopened.
The fire is under investigation, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
