MALTA, N.Y. – State Police say a tractor trailer driver has been arrested for felony aggravated DWI.
On Saturday around 11 a.m., Troopers responded to the Price Chopper Plaza in Malta for a tractor trailer operator who was driving a Coca Cola tractor trailer while intoxicated.
Troopers interviewed the driver, John Guillaume, 55. The Schenectady man was found to have a BAC of .19%, nearly 5 times the legal limit.
In New York State, while operating a commercial vehicle, the legal BAC is .04%. If a commercial vehicle driver has a BAC higher than .18% it is a felony.
Guillaume was arraigned in the Town of Stillwater court and was sent to Saratoga County Jail for failing to post bail.
State Police credit the public for contacting authorities about the drunk driver, which helped take the 26,000 lb vehicle off the roads.
