SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Lieutenant John Catone has been promoted to the Assistant Chief of Police for the Saratoga Springs Police Department.
Catone has been with the department for 26 years. On Saturday he was officially given his new role for the police department.
He began as a police officer in 1987. He was then promoted to the position of Investigator in 1999 as he spent time in both the Juvenile Aid Unit and Criminal Investigations Unit. In 2006 he was promoted to Sergeant with assignments in the patrol division, administrative section and investigations division.
Commissioner of Public Safety Chris Mathiesen stated that he is "confident that John Catone has the drive and determination necessary to serve our City well as Assistant Police Chief."
