Schenectady police investigating string of burglaries, residents reminded to keep homes secured


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Residents of the Stockade and Wendell Avenues are being reminded to keep their homes locked after a string of burglaries.

The Schenectady Police Department is investigating three bugarlies that occurred overnight October 16 into October 17.  They say all three residences that were burglarized were occupies at the time and property was taken from each one.

Police say the suspect(s) were able to get into the residences by removing a screen and entering through a window. 

Each residence has been processed by an Evidence Technician and all three incidents are being investigated.

There is no description of the suspect(s) at this time.  However, authorities are canvasing the neighborhoods and reviewing neighborhood surveillance cameras.

Police are asking the public to always keep their doors and windows locked whenever possible.
