State Street in Albany gets a new "name" in honor of a local restaurant
ALBANY, N.Y. – A local business will be celebrated on Thursday with the "renaming" of State Street.
Mayor Jerry Jennings will lead Thursday's ceremony for Jack's Oyster House. The restaurant is celebrating their 100th Anniversary. In honor of the landmark restaurant's contribution to the City of Albany, State Street will be symbolically renamed "Jack's Oyster House Way."
Thursday is also a celebration for the second-generation owner, Arnold Rosenstein's, 92nd birthday.
Jennings will have new street signs installed on State Street to honor the milestone for the restaurant.
Jack's Oyster House is the second oldest family-owned fine dining restaurant in the United States.
Mayor Jennings has stated "Jack's has served guests from literally all over the world, 365 days a year, keeping our Capital city vibrant, alive and always open for business."
