Cohoes Fire Dept. gets lifesaving masks for pets

COHOES, N.Y. -- The Cohoes Fire Department has a new life saving tool to use during fire rescues – masks for four-legged friends.

The masks come in three different sizes and are designed specifically for animals suffering from smoke inhalation.

Each fire truck in the city of Cohoes is now fully equipped with special pet safety gear. The department tells us far too many pets die each year because firefighters have no way to revive them. They are confident these kits will help cut back on those loses.

The masks were donated through a nationwide campaign called the Wag' N 02 Fur Life Program.
