Investigation into attempted robbery of Friendly's restaurant and robbery of Dunkin Donuts

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – State Police say they are investigating an attempted robbery at a Friendly's restaurant.

According to authorities, shortly before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, a white male wearing a gray hoodie pulled over his face displayed a handgun at the outside walk-up window of the Friendly's Restaurant.

The clerk at the window saw the displayed weapon and screamed.  The suspect then fled west towards a McDonald's on foot.

No money was taken and there is no video surveillance.

The suspect is described as being about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slight build.

State Police say they are also working on investigating a robbery at a Halfmoon Dunkin' Donuts that happened Tuesday, shortly after the Friendly's incident. They say the two incidents are "similar as far as description of subject."
