GLENVILLE, N.Y. – Police are investigating a serious personal injury motor vehicle accident that sent two women to the hospital, leaving one in critical condition.
According to authorities, around 4:20 p.m. on Friday, 30-year-old Crystal Dillenbeck was making a left turn from the westbound lane of Route 5 onto Route 103 when she turned into the path of another vehicle.
The second vehicle was operated by Gina Clark, 29. Clark was heading eastbound on Route 5 when her vehicle struck the passenger side of Dillenbeck's car.
Dillenbeck's vehicle was then forced into the guardrail on the eastbound shoulder about 100 feet from the intersection.
The jaws of life had to be used to cut Dillenbeck from her vehicle. She was then flown to Albany Medical Center to be treated for a serious head injury. Hospital officials told NEWS10 ABC Saturday night that she was listed in critical condition.
Clark was also taken to Albany Med for fractures to her arm, wrist and leg.
Police say Dillenbeck failed to yield the right of way when making the left turn.
As the investigation continues, Glenville Police say traffic citations may be issued.
