Schenectady Police investigating Eagle Street shooting


SCHENECTAD, N.Y. -- The Schenectady Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that took place in front of 27 Eagle St. on Friday night.

Police responded to multiple 911 calls about shots fired in the area of 27 Eagle St and confirmed that a shooting had taken place.  It was discovered that a male victim, whose identity is not being released at this time, was transported to Ellis Hospital, McClellan Campus, for treatment for a gunshot wound to his arm and one to his chest. 

The victim was stabilized at Ellis and then transported to Albany Medical Center for further treatment. His current medical condition is unknown. 

The motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation, and there are no suspects in custody at this time.  

The incident is being investigated by members of the Detective Division and the Evidence Collection Unit. Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to contact the Detective Division at (518) 382-5245.
