Suspect in UAlbany abduction attempt back in court

ALBANY, N.Y. – An Albany man accused of trying to kidnap two women near the campus of UAlbany is scheduled to be back in court today.

Anthony Collins is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday in Albany City Court. Collins is in police custody as he was remanded to jail without bail.

The 54-year-old was arraigned October 9th and charged with kidnapping, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say Collins tried to kidnap two women at a CDTA bus stop on Western Ave. the morning of October 4th.

Both women got away unharmed. Collins was picked up by police October 8th after investigators used eye witness accounts and area surveillance cameras to track him down.
