JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. – A Johnstown police officer has been suspended without pay almost one month after being arrested and charged with rape.

Johnstown Police Officer Adam Schwabrow is now suspended for 30 days without pay after a court appearance Thursday.

The 32-year old is charged with rape for having sex with a 16-year-old girl. He had been on paid leave since the 19th.

If found guilty, he could spend up to four years behind bars.

Schwabrow was also the Director of Emergency Management for Montgomery County. He's been suspended from that position as well.
