Montezuma, N.Y. – Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office has recovered all seven puppies stolen from a home in Montezuma.

The burglary occurred on NYS Rt. 90. in the Town of Montezuma on October 7th between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. A suspect entered an unlocked shed and stole 7 pure bred Pit Bull puppies.

Sheriff's Detectives began receiving numerous tips following the media coverage earlier this evening.  Calls were received from two individuals who were in possession of the puppies and wished to surrender them.  Sheriff's Detectives met with these individuals at a residence in the City of Auburn and in turn contacted the owner who responded and took possession of her puppies.

At this time the investigation is continuing and there are numerous interviews to be conducted.  The roles of certain individuals involved at this point have yet to be determined.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Detective Steve Smith at (315) 253-1610.  Anonymous tips may be left at
