Earlton woman faces 7 charges after traffic stop for broken bulb


ALBANY, N.Y. – A traffic stop led to the discovery of a woman using stolen license plates and driving on a suspended license.

State Police in Albany say Cheryl Budnik, 46, was pulled over when Trooper's noticed the rear license plate bulb was broken.

The Trooper ran the Earlton, NY woman's plates and discovered they were reported stolen.  They also found that Budnik was driving with a suspended license.

She was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operation an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance, Operation a Motor Vehicle with Improper Plates and Equipment Violation.  She was also charged with Use of a Leased/Rented/Loaned Vehicle without Ignition Interlock which is related to drunk driving charges Budnik was previously convicted of.

She was issued an appearance ticket and will be back in Albany City Court on October 21.
