ALBANY, N.Y. – An accident at the University of Albany uptown campus that sent an elderly bicyclist to the hospital on Saturday is being investigated.
UAlbany Spokesman Karl Luntta says that on Saturday, shortly before 6 p.m., a bicyclist may have been struck by a CDTA bus around the Western Avenue exit of the campus.
UAlbany Police are investigating the incident but no tickets are being issued as it is not a criminal investigation. They were also unsure if the bus driver knew about the incident.
It is unclear if the bus actually did hit the bicyclist. Luntta said they only know that a CDTA bus was in the area at the time of the accident.
The rider was taken to Albany Medical Center but Luntta said his injuries did not appear to be life threatening. His condition is unknown at this time.
NEWS10 ABC reached out to CDTA for information and their spokeswoman said the incident is still under investigation.
