HAMPTON, N.Y. – The Washington County Sheriff's Office is still looking for a mobile home that was stolen from a parking lot in Hampton last month, and the reward has been increased to $5,000.
According to authorities, a few unsuccessful leads have come in for the theft of the mobile home, which was allegedly stolen from the parking lot of the Big Apple Diner on Route 4.
Mike Bilodeau says he had parked the 70-foot long single wide trailer that he planned to sell in Vermont at the diner, but ran into a snag when he had to undergo emergency surgery and was forced to leave the mobile home there for seven weeks.
The Sheriff's Office says the trailer was parking at the lot in mid-August and was taken by an unknown person with a white tractor on September 23rd around 5 p.m. They say the trailer was last seen traveling northbound towards Vermont on State Route 4.
The mobile home is described as a 2009 Pine Groves series GH016-496. It is 16 feet wide, 70 feet long and the color is tan. It has two bedrooms and bathrooms, central air conditioning, and some furniture.
