Sex offender heads back to prison for failing to register

FORT EDWARD, N.Y. - The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a homeless man who was recently released from prison was arrested again for failing to register as a sex offender.

Officials say 44-year-old John Printy was released from prison on August 12th after reaching the end of his sentence for a previous conviction for failing to register as a sex offender.

After not registering with in the required 10 days after being released, new charges were filed against Printy for failing to register.

He was taken into custody at the Department of Social Services after he had come in for benefits. He was processed and remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
