Greenfield accident leaves one in critical condition

GREENFIELD, N.Y. – A Sunday evening accident resulted in a Malta teen being sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says 17-year-old Caterina Cappa was traveling northbound on Lester Park Road in the Town of Greenfield when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Middle Grove Road. Just after 7 p.m., Cappa struck a car traveling eastbound on Middle Grove Road driven by 24-year-old Ralph Flewelling, of Gansevoort.

Cappa was transported to Albany Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition. Flewelling was not injured.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Greenfield Fire Department, Saratoga Springs EMS, Galaxy EMS and Empire EMS.
