NYS Amber Alert for missing 5-year old cancelled

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The NYS Police has cancelled the New York State AMBER Alert issued at about 6:33 p.m. on Friday.

At this time they have not released any additional information, but we will update as soon as they do.

The child, Avanta Perez is a Hispanic male, approximately 5-years old with short, brown hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 3 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 50 pounds. Avanta was last seen wearing khaki pants and an aqua shirt.

The suspect, Amanda Perez is a Hispanic female, approximately 23-years old with long, brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing black pants, red flowered shirt and a black sweater.

The vehicle has been identified as a gray 4-door sedan Honda Civic with NY license plate number DRT8361. It was last seen traveling on Route 9 possibly heading for the Bear Mountain area.

Suspect is distraught and has threatened to harm the child and herself. Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the NYS Police at (866) N Y S-AMBER or dial 911 to provide information on a report or sighting.
