CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – A Clifton Park woman has been convicted
of Manslaughter following a car crash that killed another
Traci Briskin, 39, has been found guilty on all charges
after a 10 day jury trial in Saratoga County.
On November 30, 2012, Briskin was driving her vehicle in a
reckless manner when she crossed the center line twice, took her eyes off the
road, and ran a stop sign on Jockey Street in Charlton. Saratoga County District Attroney James
Murphy III says Briskin then crashed into 49-year-old Thomas Baker, who had the
right of way while driving on Route 67.
After the accident, Baker was taken to Albany Medical Center
to be treated for serious injuries. He
was placed in the intensive care unit but succumbed to his injuries on December
Briskin has been found guilty of Manslaughter in
the Second Degree and Driving While Ability Impaired. This verdict
carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in State Prison.
Briskin's sentencing date has been scheduled for
