Saratoga County skydiver becomes stuck in tree

NORTHUMBERLAND, N.Y. - The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says they responded to the report of a parachutist stuck in a tree on Monday.

The 36-year-old Scotia woman had taken off from Saratoga Skydive on Brownville Road in the town of Northumberland on Monday afternoon when an unexpected gust of wind during her jump caused her to go off course and become entangled in a tree.

She was subsequently freed by the Gansevoort Fire Department and escaped the incident without any injuries.
