Guilderland Police: Unknown man approached woman, demanded money

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. - Police in Guilderland are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they say approached a woman walking her dog and demanded money.

Police say the attempted robbery occurred Saturday night around 9 p.m. when the female victim was walking her dog on Terry Avenue in the town of Guilderland. The woman says a male approached her and demanded she give him all of her money.

During the incident, police say a scuffle occurred and the man ran off before taking anything from the victim. The victim was examined and denied medical services.

The suspect is described as a tall male, raspy voice, and wore a baseball style hat backwards. There is no further description because of the darkness and the victim covering her face.

The Guilderland Police Department has a person of interest in this case and has been working on its lead. Anyone that may have information is asked to call the Guilderland Police Department at 356-1501.
