BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. - One month after a fire ripped through the original restaurant, Augie's family-style Italian restaurant has officially reopened Wednesday in a new location.
The new, temporary location at 17 Low Street in Ballston Spa officially opened at 4 p.m. on Wednesday while Augie's is rebuilding a new restaurant in the original location.
The temporary building is also the former location of Manna's, about five minutes down the road from the original restaurant on Route 50.
Owner Augie Vitiello tells NEWS10 ABC he is excited to get back to work. An online fundraiser to help support the restaurant employees is still going on. Over $16,000 has been raised at this time.
The building was deemed a total loss after the August 5th fire. Officials believe the cause was an electrical fire, which started in the basement and was fueled by paper products and other restaurant supplies stored in the area.
