ALBANY, N.Y. - LarkFEST will be held Saturday, September 21 this year, and Albany Police have set new rules for safety.
The one day street festival is the largest in New York State, and Albany Police have put new rules in place this year to ensure safety of residents.
On Saturday there will be Albany Police Officers at all entrances of LarkFEST and bicycle officers will be on duty. No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed and the open container permit rule will be enforced. Police remind those who plan to attend that the open container permit only allows for beer that is served in the event cup.
There are two convenient stores that have received enhanced one day liquor licenses from the State Liquor Authority and they will be the only ones allowed to pour beers from cans into the sponsored cups as patrons leave the stores.
Albany Police will also have officer detail in effect until 4a.m.
The lineup for LarkFEST was announced in August.
