BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. - The Saratoga County Board of Elections is currently counting absentee ballots for the primary election race for County Sheriff.

Michael Zurlo faces opponent Jeff Gildersleeve to run for the Saratoga County Sheriff on the republican ticket in November's general election.

Zurlo declared victory after September 10th primary, but Gildersleeve has not yet conceded. The County Board of Elections says Zurlo has a 407 vote lead, but around 1,000 absentee ballots need to be counted.

The Board of Elections says they will not release results until all absentee ballots are counted. They expect to have results by the end of the day Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.
