ALBANY, N.Y. - A Westerlo woman pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter Thursday in connection to the death of her 22-year-old son.
Albany County Distrist Attorney David Soares says 53-year-old Tracey Zetzsche caused the death of her son Gabriel Philby-Zetzsche by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife and striking him with a hammer in the family's apartment on Route 143 last July.
Officials with the Albany County Sheriff's Office say Philby-Zetzsche, who had cerebral palsy, had been dead for at least three days before his body was found inside the residence by a family member.. They said Zetzsche continued to live in the apartment during that time.
Zetzsche faces up to 20 years in state prison when sentenced in November.
