COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Police say one woman was arrested on a warrant for Grand Larceny after a five month long investigation.
The Cobleskill Police Department says they arrested Kelly Garreau, 47, on an arrest warrant. The Richmondville woman is accused of stealing money from her work place, during her employment.
In March 2013, police responded to a report from Garraeu's employer who believed the woman was stealing money from the business. After records from a number of businesses and personal financial accounts were subpoenaed, a financial audit took place.
After the audit and investigation, police say they have reason to believe Garreau stole at least $389,880.15 between 2006 and 2013. Authorities say she stole the money after she obtained an unauthorized credit card in her name but under her employer's business account.
Garreau was indicted for grand Larceny in the 2nd Degree after evidence was handed over to a Schoharie County Grand Jury.
Garreau was arraigned and posted $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to return to court in late November.
