Albany Police investigate shooting


ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Clinton Avenue Monday.

On September 9th, at about 11:50 p.m., officers responded to Lexington Avenue and Orange Street for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, officers learned that a male had been shot and was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Shortly after the call, staff from Albany Memorial Hospital notified police that a male had entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the hospital and spoke with the victim who told them he was shot by an unknown person while on the 400 block of Clinton Avenue.

The victim, a 42-year-old male from Albany, sustained a single gunshot wound. He was transferred to Albany Medical Center Hospital for further evaluation where he is currently admitted and listed in stable condition.
