ALBANY, N.Y. – It's just days before the home opener for the University at Albany football team and the stadium still doesn't have a name.
Construction on the stadium is still wrapping up this week, but the school has recently rejected bids to name the $18 million stadium.
It can seat 8,500 people and sports a new HD video scoreboard, but students say they wish it had a name - at least for school pride sake.
"It's weird, you should be able to tell people where the game is, and not just say at your home school's field, that doesn't flow as nice," said freshman Matthew McNeill.
The school hopes a new promotion campaign will make the stadium more attractive to new bidders interested in getting their name on the stadium.
