ALBANY: 9:15 a.m. - Christian Brothers Academy (CBA), a college preparatory junior and senior high school for young men will remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 during their annual flag raising ceremony. Albany County Executive Dan McCoy will provide a speech to the crowd as well honoring the victims of 9/11. The marching band will play during the ceremony at 12 Airline Drive, Albany, NY 12205.
ALBANY: 9:15-11:15 a.m. – High school students will read essays about 9/11 against a backdrop of the World Trade Center exhibit at the NYS Museum.
ALBANY: 9:59 a.m. - At the steps of City Hall, 24 Eagle Street, Mayor Jennings, Fire Chief Robert C. Forezzi, and members of the Albany Fire Department command staff for a moment of silence in honor of the lives lost in the September 11th tragedy. The ceremony will take place at 9:59 a.m. and marks the time the South Tower fell in New York City following the terrorist attack in 2001. All residents, visitors, and city employees are encouraged to participate.
ALBANY: 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. – American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces staff along with the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York will pack "Totes of Hope" as part of the "National Day of Service and Remembrance."
ALBANY: 5-11 p.m. – The Capital District Irish-American Assoc. is having a 9/11 Remembrance ceremony at 375 Ontario Street, Albany.
COLONIE: 6 p.m. – The Blue Star Mothers will host a 9/11 Freedom Walk and Remembrance ceremony.
GLENMONT: 7 p.m. – Selkirk Fire #2 is hosting their annual September 11 Name Service ceremony. Processional at 6:45 p.m. at 301 Glenmont Rd.
GLENVILLE: 5 p.m. – Water's Edge Lighthouse, 2 Freeman's Bridge Rd, will host a "We Will Never Forget" 9/11 Ceremony.
RENSSELEAR: Noon – Melvin Roads Post 1231 American Legion will host a Patriot Day Ceremony.
TROY: 2:30 p.m. – The Troy 9/11 Memorial Committee will hold its annual September 11th Ceremony with a wreath laying followed by a moment of silence.
TROY: 6-9 p.m. – Fundraiser hosted by Troy restaurants and businesses to benefit the Troy 9/11 Memorial at 13 3rd Street in Troy.
Paul Mitchell School of Schenectady will give free haircuts to men and women in uniform.
