PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Pittsfield's sixth annual charity beer event, Berktoberfest, is slated to be bigger than ever.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 12 to 6 p.m. hundreds of beer enthusiasts will ascend upon the City of Pittsfield in search of the finest ales, lagers, stouts, local fare, games, mingling and music.
The event will be located at the McKay Street parking lot in the newly designated Upstreet Cultural District.
Though typically dogged by rain, the festival draws roughly 800 attendees who gather under large, white tents to sample some of our regions finest craft beers, including those from our 3 local breweries – Barrington Brewery, Wandering Star and Big Elm Brewing.
In the last 5 years, over $10000 dollars in proceeds are donated to area charities through a non-profit educational organization they created called Berkshire Brewing Heritage.
Confirmed breweries for this year's event include: Big Elm Brewing, Wandering Star, Barrington Brewery, Olde Burnside, Baxter Brewing, Blatant Brewery, Blue Hills Brewery, Element, Berkshire Brewing Company, Jack's Abby, High and Mighty, Green River Ambrosia, Cape Ann, and more that have yet to be confirmed.
Tickets for Berktoberfest will cost $26 at the door with this year's proceeds to benefit Berkshire Brewing Heritage, Elizabeth Freemen Center and Moments House. Music will be provided by Jill Gallagher Band.
