Police: Car chase leads to an arrest of a parolee

WARRENSBURG, N.Y. – Three people were arrested after a police pursuit in Warren County early Saturday morning.

Around 3:30AM, authorities say they were investigating an unrelated incident when they saw a 2011 Jeep Compass speeding on Main Street.

As authorities attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated.  Stop sticks were then deployed, causing two of the tires to deflate.

The chase continued onto Route 28, when the vehicle almost crashed.  It was eventually stopped.

The driver, 28-year old Geoffry Ingersoll allegedly fled on foot into the woods because he was apprehended.

Twenty-five year old Derek Mansfield and 26-year old Benjamin Frasier were passengers who did not comply with the officers.

Ingersoll faces four misdemeanors and a number of vehicle and traffic violations. Police say he is on parole.

Mansfield and Frasier also face several charges and both posted bail.
