Underage drinking sting results in no arrests


WILTON, NY - On Thursday, State Police, Zone 2 Headquarters-Wilton, conducted an underage drinking initiative. The initiative targeted the sale of alcohol to minors and utilized a team consisting of State Police members.

Underage, undercover operatives were utilized with the team visiting and attempting the purchase of alcoholic beverages at 36 establishments in Warren County which included convenience, grocery and liquor stores.

No sales were made resulting in no arrests.

Assistant Zone Two Commander Lieutenant Gregory Thomas stated:
"The Division of State Police commends the 36 establishments that were checked throughout Warren County for their efforts to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors by requiring proper identification. Alcohol and minors do not mix and the Division of State Police is committed to continuing our efforts to ensure establishments that sell and serve alcohol are doing so responsibly and lawfully."
