AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says an Amsterdam man was arrested for Grand Larceny this week.

Thirty-two year old John Vigil Bottomley is accused of shoplifting from Wal-Mart.  Police say surveillance footage showed Bottomley stole $2,000 worth of merchandise over the period of a month.

He was arraigned Thursday and was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

Bottomley has been arrested in the past for Petit Larceny and Asset Protection.
