Albany College of Pharmacy conducts control burn in mock dorm room
ALBANY, N.Y. – First year students of the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will be getting a lesson on fire safety Thursday.
The College along with the Albany Fire Department and New
York State Office of Fire Prevention will be conducting a controlled burn of a
mock dorm room.
The demonstration is part of Orientation Week at the College and is intended to educate new students on the importance of fire safety and the speed at which a fire can spread. City and state fire officials will supervise the burn.
The structure will include items that are typically found in a college student's room such as papers, clothes, furniture and empty pizza boxes.
