SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy says Sam Grossman, the official bugler for New York Racing Association, pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired Tuesday morning.

Sam "The Bugler" was stopped for speeding early Saturday morning, the day of Travers at Saratoga Race Course. Subsequently he was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .15 percent, Murphy says.

Grossman's license was suspended for six months, he will attend a DMV "drinker driver program," attend a victim impact panel, pay over $500 in fines, and was ordered to undergo an alcohol evaluation and comply with follow up treatment for alcohol abuse.

The district attorney says Grossman has no prior record. Murphy says, "this conviction shows that the law is applied equally to everyone no matter who you are."
