The Columbia-Greene Humane Society says all 47 dogs found abandoned in Ghent last week have been adopted.

"We have found homes for all of them!" said Ron Perez, director of the humane society. All 47 dogs and puppies were found living in deplorable conditions inside the home of a suspected animal hoarder in Ghent.

Perez said the animals were found abandoned in the "worst living conditions" they have ever seen, covered with fleas and excrement.

But the Capital Region has answered the shelter's calls for help in force. The shelter received nearly 300 applications for the dogs, and needed to shut down the online applications.

After screening hundreds of applications, the pups - Cairn Terriers, Chihuahuas, Brussels Griffons, and Dachshunds - all went to their new forever homes this weekend.

NEWS10's January Keaton was one of the lucky ones to adopt a puppy over the weekend. She took her new dog "Annie" home with her on Saturday; Annie seems to be adjusting to her new home just fine!
