NYS Police mourn death of K-9 Dillon

New York State Police have announced the death of one of their K-9 officers.

Dillon, 11, died on August 21, 2013. He was last stationed in Troop D and was assigned to Trooper Jesse L. Davis. He was named after the late Trooper Emerson J. Dillon and entered Division service on October 21, 2003.

As well as being certified with the New York State Police, Dillon was certified with the National Police Bloodhound Association and the North American Police Dog Working Association. He was assigned to the New York State Fair detail from 2002 to 2010.

He was involved in major cases throughout the state and responded to approximately 500 service calls.
