Police ask for public's help in locating kayaker in Hudson River

MOREAU, N.Y. – Police and fire officials out of Saratoga County are asking for the public's help in locating a missing kayaker.

The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of a subject in a kayak in distress on the Hudson River near the Fenimore Bridge in the Town of Moreau Thursday.

The South Glens Falls Fire Department responded and a member of the department also witnessed a subject in a kayak go under water. The subject was not seen again.

Sheriff's deputies and Fire Rescue searched the area on land and water and were unable to locate the subject.

Anyone who may have information about the incident is asked to call the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office at 885-6761.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Moreau EMS, Corinth Fire dive team, South Glens Falls Fire dive team and the Hudson Falls Fire Department.
