CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- New York State Police are investigating a two car serious injury accident that occurred Thursday on Route 146 west of Nott Road in Clifton Park.

Daniel Stack, 25, from Saratoga, was driving his 2009 Honda Civic westbound on Route 146, when he crossed over the double solid line, and struck a 2007 Camry head on. The Camry was operated by Ertugrul Berkcan, 63, from Clifton Park.

Both parties were removed from the vehicles by emergency responders, and flown to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. Route 146 was closed between Nott Road and Blue Barns Road from approximately 12:15 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. while the scene was being investigated. The accident is still under investigation, and charges are expected to be filed upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The State Police were assisted by the Rexford, Jonesville, Vischer Ferry, and Niskayuna Fire Departments, and the Clifton Park Halfmoon Ambulance.
