Arrest made in Schenectady shooting

SCHENECTADY , N.Y. – The Schenectady Police Department's Detective Division made an arrest in the shooting that occurred in the area of Crane Street and Sixth Avenue on August 20.

21-year-old Stephen Wallace of Schenectady was arrested and charged with attempted murder in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and assault in the second degree.

Wallace was located Wednesday in East Greenbush with the assistance of U.S. Marshalls and the East Greenbush Police Department. He is being held at the Schenectady Police Department without bail until his arraignment later today.

Officers with the Schenectady Police Department responded to calls of a shooting Tuesday night. Officers found a male in front of 1110 Sixth Ave who had been shot two times in the abdomen area. He was treated at the scene by members of the Schenectady Fire Department and was transported to Albany Medical Center. His injuries were not considered life threatening.

The shooting was investigated by Schenectady Police Department detectives.
