Attempted bank robber being sought in Slingerlands


SLINGERLANDS, N.Y. - Bethlehem Police tell NEWS10 there was an attempted robbery at the TrustCo Bank on New Scotland Road in Slingerlands on Wednesday morning.

Police say the bank alarm notified them of the alleged incident at 9:13 a.m. They say no one was injured during the attempted robbery.

A suspect is being sought.  Police have released photos of the man.  He is a white male who wore a long sleeve red flannel shirt, greenish colored docker style cargo pants, as well as a yellow and orange reflective safety vest and an orange construction style hard hat.

He fled westbound towards Font Grove Road and may have entered a vehicle in the area.

The suspect did have a black handgun during the incident.

The public is being asked, that if they saw anyone matching this description or a parked vehicle in the Font Grove Road area, to contact Bethlehem Police Detectives at 518-439-9973.

Police remain on the scene as the investigation continues.
