EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. -- East Greenbush Police want to remind the public about a $25,000 reward for information that helps them solve a 19-year-old murder case.

On August 19, 1994, police say 81-year-old Wilomeana "Violet" Filkins was found bludgeoned to death in her East Greenbush apartment. She was discovered by relatives when they came to her house after not hearing from her for two days.

Despite an ongoing investigation by local and state police, no suspect was ever arrested for Violet's murder.

Filkins's family is continuing to offer a $25,000 reward to a person who can provide information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for Violet's death.

If you have information on who is responsible for the death of Violet Filkins, you are urged to call East Greenbush Police Department Detectives at 518-479-2525.
