Kingsbury man dies in tractor accident

KINGSBURY, N.Y. - Officials in Washington County say a 62-year-old Kingsbury man died Sunday morning due to a farm tractor accident.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened Sunday around 11:15 a.m. when the victim, Terrence Irwin, was operating a 1969 International 656 tractor, which was towing two wagons loaded with hay lost control maneuvering the equipment while traveling down a small hill.  The wagons jackknifed, causing the tractor to flip over, pinning Irwin beneath it.

Another worker was nearby and attempted to free Irwin with another piece of equipment, but was unable to succeed.

The Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department and Fort Edward Rescue squad were on the scene. The Washington County coroner pronounced Irwin dead at the scene.

An autopsy is pending.
