Rensselaer man arrested on felony drug charges on I-90


MONTGOMERY, N.Y. - A Rensselaer man was arrested late Saturday night on Felony drug charges.

State Police at Fultonville say they checked on a disabled vehicle on I-90 eastbound around 11:30PM Saturday.   Authorities say they smelled marijuana on the driver, 30 year old Matthew Nobles.  Nobles voluntarily handed over a plastic bag containing the drug.

During a search of the vehicle, however, Trooper found a second bag of marijuana and a bag with cocaine.  The total amount of marijuana found was 6.5 ounces.  The cocoaine equaled 3.25 ounces. 

Nobles has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of Mrijuana and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia.

Authorities say $1,770.00 in cash was also seized from Nobles. 

He has been arraigned and will reappear in court at a later date.
