Former Siena basketball coach arrested after alleged bar fight

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -  Bob Beyer, a former head basketball coach for Siena Collge, has been arrested according to police in Saratoga Springs.

The Saratoga Springs Police Department says Beyer, 51, was arrested on Thursday night after a fight allegedly broke out inside Gaffney's Bar on Caroline Street in Saratoga Springs.

Police say Beyer and some of his friends were fighting with the bouncers. As police were placing Beyer's friend under arrest, Beyer and another friend allegedly tried to interfere with police. That is when, police say, the former coach began to fight with police.

He has been charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Two of his friends involved in the fight were also arrested and face charges.

Beyer now works as the assistant head coach with the Charlotte Bobcats.
