Fire safety lessons at RPI

TROY, N.Y. - There was a fire safety presentation at RPI Thursday.  More than 80 resident assiatsnt and resident directors participated in the controlled fire which was in a mock dorm room.

The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, along with the City fo Troy Fire Department and Residence Life Staffers, put the event together to learn about fire safety.

Resident assistants and directors will learn how to use a fire extinguisher, learn fire violations, and they will have to learn how to get out of a hallway filled with smoke.  They hope this will prepare them for the start of the fall semester.
