National drive-in contest aims to save American tradition

ALBANY, N.Y. -- An American tradition is fading fast, but a new national contest is trying to save drive-ins.

All films are going digital, and most local drive-ins don't have the projectors to play them, especially not the $80,000 to buy one.

Honda is giving away five digital projectors to the drive-ins that receive the most votes in the contest. Four local drive-ins are in the running, Jericho in Glenmont, Greenville drive-in, Hathaway's in North Hoosick, and El Rancho in Palatine Bridge.
