Fabulous Fillies day at the Saratoga Race Course supports breast cancer research
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Wednesday, August 14, is Fabulous Fillies Day at the Saratoga Race Course and everyone is invited to wear pink. The day is dedicated to women and their work for thoroughbred racing.
Throughout the day, funds will be raised for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) at the track. Also, anyone who sports pink will receive free grandstand admission.
Women and girls will be given one of the 2,000 Fabulous Fillies bags at random, donated by French Mountain Commons and Log Jam Outlet Centers. Pink wristbands will also be given to fans with a donation to the foundation.
A fashion show will be held at 1:30pm in the event tent inside the Reserved Seats Box Office entrance. Women will also be invited to enjoy tarot card readings and receive henna tattoos, which will benefit the BCRF.
The Sizzling Hot Pink Saratoga Hat Luncheon will begin at 2pm. The luncheon will honor Marylou Whitney this year in the At the Rail Pavilion. Guest Speaker Larry Norton,MD, will discuss Breast Cancer: How We Are Winning the Race. General tickets cost $150 with all proceeds benefiting BCRF, reservations are needed since there is limited seating.
The At the Rail Pavilion will be open from 2:30pm to 5:30pm for people to check out the Escada Boutique. A portion of all sales today will be donated to the BCRF.
