RHINEBECK, N.Y. - There was a single car accident on Route 9 in the town of Rhinebeck early Tuesday morning and the driver faces charges.
Around 1 a.m., State Police responded to a call about a vehicle that ran off the west shoulder of the road. The vehicle traveled about 100 feet while hitting trees before coming to a complete stop when a large tree was struck.
Police say the driver was not in the vehicle when they arrived to the scene, but found her about 200 feet from the scene of the accident. The victim, 34-year-old Larie Pidgeon, was brought to a Poughkeepsie Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
After an investigation, police found Pidgeon had blood alcohol content more than the legal limit when she was driving on Tuesday morning. The woman also had a suspended license.
Pidgeon was issued Appearance tickets for DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
