Rescuers that participated in search for Ephratah plane crash victims thanked

EPHRATAH, N.Y. – A reception was held Tuesday night in Johnstown to bring together the rescuers that worked tirelessly to find the victims of the Angel Flight that crashed in Ephrarah in May.

It was an informal cocktail reception held by Assemblyman Marc Butler, and there were no fancy speeches and the attire was casual, but this small event at the Johnstown Hilton meant so much to the people honored with a meal tonight.

Evelyn Amerosa, 58 and her husband Frank Amerosa, 64 were killed in the crash along with the pilot John Campbell, 70.  Wreckage from the crash was dispersed over a large area, with pieces of the plane found as far as 5 miles away.

The National Transportation Safety Board says the Angel flight took off as planned on May 24th, but an hour later, the plane veered off course and started to lose elevation.

Angel flights provide transportation for medical patients in need of care at facilities away from home.
